The weather of 2020

Hosted by Sylvia Knight

About this event

This year it felt like we had summer weather in spring and autumn weather in summer – we’ll examine the global processes that determine the weather in the UK, as well as the impact of COVID-19 on weather and climate around the world.

Sylvia Knight is the Head of Education at the Royal Meteorological Society, which involves supporting the teaching of weather and climate across the UK. Her favourite weather is associated with autumn and winter anticyclones. She has a Natural Sciences degree and a PhD and several years’ research experience in meteorology. Her most exciting project this year has been compiling a weather and climate textbook for KS3 geography.
