Global institutions: do they still have a role in the 21st century?

This session will briefly review the roles of the UN, IMF and World Bank and offer some reflections on their contribution to resolving global issues in the first part of the 21st century.

Gill Miller is Senior Lecturer Emerita at the University of Chester, and taught international development. She has published several A level texts and was an A level Chief Examiner; she is now a Reviser for A level Geography papers. Gill was President of the Geographical Association in 2019–20 and has given many lectures to GA branches around the country. She is also a trustee of the Field Studies Council, and the NGO Five Talents UK.
